George Weah

George Manneh Oppong Weah was born on October 1, 1966, in Monrovia, Liberia. Raised in the Clara Town community, Weah overcame a difficult childhood through determination and exceptional football talent. He began his football career with Young Survivors, later playing for Mighty Barrolle, Invincible Eleven, and Bongrange Company in Liberia before being discovered by Cameroonian coach Claude Le Roy.

In 1988, Weah moved to Europe, joining AS Monaco in France. His speed, strength, technical ability, and goal-scoring instinct quickly established him as one of the world's best strikers. He later played for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), AC Milan, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Olympique Marseille.

Beyond football, Weah has been recognized for his humanitarian work and commitment to the development of Liberia. In 2017, he was elected the 25th President of the Republic of Liberia, serving from 2018 to 2024.
